Ingredients:
2 Tbsp oil
1 tsp ground cumin
½ tsp ground cinnamon
¼ tsp ground allspice
¼ tsp ground cardamom
¼ tsp ground turmeric
2 cloves garlic, grated
1 tsp kosher salt
½ tsp black pepper
1 chicken breast sliced into 1-inch-thick pieces
½ medium onion Allumette
2 tbsp yogurt
½ tsp lemon juice
splash of Worcestershire
Tzatziki Sauce
2 pieces pita bread
1 Roma tomato (about 6 ounces), chopped
1/2 cup shredded lettuce
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F. Line cookie sheet with tinfoil
- Combine the oil, cumin, cinnamon, allspice, cardamom, turmeric, garlic, salt pepper, yogurt, lemon juice & Worcestershire in a large bowl. Add the chicken and onions and mix to coat evenly.
- Spread in a single layer on a sheet pan, making sure the pieces are not overlapping. Bake until the chicken is cooked through (74C) and the onions are slightly caramelized, about 15 minutes.
- Spread the Tzatziki sauce on top or inside the pitas and spoon the chicken and onions over the sauce. Top with the tomatoes and shredded lettuce.
